Monday, August 2, 2010 At 01:28 Company 3 was dispatched for a kitchen fire on Clark Avenue. Chief 303 arrived on scene and reported a small grease fire on the stove. Engine 3-2 found the stove on fire with extension into the above cabinets. Crews extinguished the fire and Company 3 was available at 02:28. Saturday, July 31, 2010 At 20:31 Company 3 was dispatched for an auto-accident on Rte. 45 west of Mifflinburg, with reports of car vs. horse and buggy. Units found horse down on roadway with buggy on its side with the wheels knocked out from under it. Crews were available at 20:38. Wednesday, July 28, 2010 At 11:32 Company 3 was dispatched to investigate an odor at the Buffalo Valley Shopping Center inside the Family Dollar. Crews found that the tar patching taking place on the roof had sucked the odor in through the HVAC vents. Company 3 was placed available at 11:38. Monday, July 26, 2010 With call number 2 for the day Company 3 was dispatched for an MVA on New Berlin Mt. Rd and Turkey Run Rd. at 15:52. Rescue 3-1 crew found 1 vehicle blocking the southbound lane with all patients out of the vehicle. Rescue crew stabilized the vehicle and Company 3 was available at 16:13. Friday, July 23, 2010 At 17:37 Company 3 was dispatched to Creek Rd. in Hartley Twp. for a basement fire. Engine 3-3 arrived on scene and found a smoke condition in the basement of the structure. It was found to be the well pump which had burnt out. Company 3 was available at 18:14. Thursday, July 22, 2010 AT 12:34 Company 3 was dispatched to an auto- accident on Green Ridge Rd. Prior to responding Union County advised 1 car overturned with the occupant confined. Rescue 3-1 crew assisted with EMS and packaging of patient. Prior to Engine 3-1’s arrival on scene they were told to copy a call to a smoke in a structure. Rescue 3-1 was available at 12:47 and responded to the smoke in a structure as well. ** New video of engine 3-1 response…if you listen carefully you can hear Union County inform Engine 3-1 to copy the call to the smoke in a structure. Thursday, July 22, 2010 At 12:43 while responding to an auto- accident Company 3 was dispatched for smoke in a structure at 963 Cold Run Rd. Engine 3-1 was the first arriving unit and found smoke showing from the exterior of the residence. The crew advanced one (1) 1 & 3/4” handline and found a small fire in the rear bedroom. The fire was extinguished and Company 3 was available at 13:34. Sunday, July 18, 2010 The Mifflinburg Hose Company No. 1 and all members would like to show our greatest sympathy to the family of Richard Springman from the Trout Run fire department, who lost his life in a line of duty death.
