Wednesday, July 14, 2010 The past few weeks and the next few weeks to come Company 3 has been busy preparing for the annual carnival. Our members have been hard at work getting things ready such as painting, rebuilding some minor things, and much more. This years carnival dates are July 27- 31, with the fireman’s parade on the 31st starting at 4 P.M. Featuring the National Champion Drum and Bugle Corps The Reading Buccaneers, sponsored by The Swineford National Bank. So bring your family, friends, and everybody else and have a good time every night.
Wednesday, July 14, 2010 At 16:10 Company 3 was dispatched to assist Mifflinburg Police, and Union County Sheriffs department with forcible entry of a residence checking on the welfare of the occupant, situation was found to be ok. Sunday, July 11, 2010 Company 3 was dispatched at 00:45 to the Borough of Milton for a house fire. Rescue 3-1 was assigned as the RIT team. Upon arrival crews found a garage fire. The garage was attached to the residence. Thursday, July 8, 2010 At 4:04 Company 3 was dispatched to a house fire in the Borough of Mifflinburg at 530 Walnut St. Upon arrival Truck 3-1 pulled on handline, and took the platform to the roof. Fire was found in the downstairs of the dwelling. The occupants of the house were on the roof of the porch and were rescued via a ladder. Company 3 and 4 had a very nice save on the dwelling. Company 3 was returned available at 05:30. Units Responding: 301, 302, 303, 304 Apparatus: Truck 3-1, Engine 3-2, Engine 3-1, Rescue 3-1, Engine 4-1, Engine 3-3 (transferred to Station 3), MICU 14 Personnel: 40 members from Company 3 Command: 301
Tuesday, July 6, 2010 Company 3 was dispatched at 18:00 for a wild fire in the area of Rte 235. It was later found that the fire was in the area of Mountain View Road off of Paddy Mt. Rd. The fire was found to be about 1 acre in size and was contained in about 45 minutes. Units were on scene for about 3 hours and Company 3 was available at 21:00 Units Responding: 302, 303 Apparatus: Brush 3-1, Brush 3-2, Engine 3-1, Engine 3-3, Tanker 3-1, Amb. 27-2 Personnel: 21 members from Company 3 Command: Gulf 10
Sunday, July 4, 2010 At 16:30 Company 3 was dispatched to an auto accident at the corner of South 4th Street and Chestnut St. Rescue 3-1 was assigned to disconnect the battery and control fluids, while engine 3-1 was ordered to hold in quarters. Saturday, July 3, 2010 At 16:37 Company 3 was dispatched to a vehicle fire endangering a structure. Captain 308 arrived on scene and held the box to only one engine. Friday, July 2, 2010 At 15:17 Company 3 (Rescue 3-1 for RIT) was dispatched to a working house fire in the Borough of Milton on South Front St. First arriving crews on scene reported heavy smoke from the roof. And fire was found in 2 of 3 connected buildings. Rescue 3-1 crew was assigned for a search of building 3 and found heavy heat and smoke. After the search Rescue 3-1 was placed on standby to cover any other calls in the area. They were then dispatched to an auto accident with entrapment on Patty Mountain Rd. in Hartley Twp. Engine 3-2 was transferred to Union County station 5 for the building fire. Engine 3-2 returned available at 21:05 Units Responding: 301, 303, 304 Apparatus: Rescue 3-1, Engine 3-2, Multiple pieces of apparatus from Northumberland, Union, Snyder, and Lycoming Counties. Personnel: 15 members from Company 3 Command: 301
Friday, July 2, 2010 At 19:49 Company 3 was dispatched to an auto accident with possible entrapment, in the area of Route 45 and Paddy Mountain Rd. Initial calls reported a possible signal 50 (DOA). Chief 301 arrived on scene and confirmed both the signal 50 and the entrapment. Life Flight was also dispatched for the 2nd patient in the vehicle. Company 3 and Snyder County Rescue 5-1 Extricated both victims. The passenger was Life Flighted to Geisinger Medical Center. Company 3 was available at 21:17 Units Responding: 301, 302, 304 Apparatus: Rescue 3-1, Engine 3-3, Engine 3-1, Snyder County Rescue 5-1, MICU 14, Geisinger Medical Center Life Flight 1 Personnel: 39 members from Company 3 Command: 301
