Honor Guard

Following participation in the funerals of several members over several years, the Mifflinburg Hose Company chose to establish an Honor Guard in the spring of 2008. While the primary focus is to represent the fire department in honoring our fallen members, this group has also assisted other departments with the same need and has borne the colors at several area parades.

Fourteen members stepped forward; more have been added. Appointment to the Honor Guard is limited to experienced personnel who are approved by the executive board of the Mifflinburg Hose Company. This selection is not without personal sacrifice. Many hours of training in drilling and marching are conducted. When deployed, members must remain in full uniform, maintain professional deportment, be clean shaven and hair must be off the ears and collar.

Current members are, alphabetically:
Firefighter Thomas J. Aikey
